We will meet tomorrow, June 13, from 7 to 9 pm. As usual, we’ll be in room 106 of Stoeckel Hall (469 College Street, New Haven), singing from the 1991 Denson revision of the Sacred Harp.
This week, Nancy Mandel from New York will teach an introductory lesson about leading songs as well as beating the different modes of time. A Sacred Harp singer for nearly 20 years, Nancy is the primary organizer of the Brooklyn monthly singing and an experienced singing school teacher who has taught at many venues, including New York’s Jalopy Theatre and School of Music.
New and inexperienced singers are always welcome. If you don’t have a book, we will have plenty of loaners on hand.
Please note that masking is no longer required at this time. We will continue to observe other precautions (singing in a room with good mechanical ventilation, collecting contact tracing info in case of possible exposure, asking anyone with signs of respiratory illness or recent Covid exposure to stay home). We will also continue to provide masks to those who wish to use them.
